Spain currently has 1552 soldiers deployed in Afghanistan. Spanish forces are divided between Herat Province, Kabul, and Badghis Province, where they lead PRT Qala-i-Naw. 33 Spanish troops have been killed so far, however this statistic doesn’t include the 62 who were killed in a plane crash on their way back home from deployment.
